Candice Vernon is an award-winning writer/director, real estate investor, and philanthropist. She is the founder of She Werks Consulting, a video content studio, co-founder of event company Behind Closed Doors, Inc., as well as the co-founder of Investwise Africa, an investment consulting company that specializes in connecting individuals and businesses with investment opportunities in Africa. Candice's directing career took off with her short film, MAKE AMERICA GREAT?, as seen in publications such as The Hollywood Reporter, and was hand-picked by Stevie Wonder to direct THE DREAM STILL LIVES celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, featuring The Obama’s, Stevie Wonder, Common, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Meryl Streep, and countless other entertainment luminaries.
Born in Jamaica and raised in the USA and Germany, Candice's unique outlook on humans as subjects has sparked her passion for storytelling. She is known for her work in comedy and documentary content with high-profile celebrities, and has directed for brands such as NBA2K, Vaseline, and Spotify. Most recently she’s at the helm of TWO TRIALS, a feature length documentary surrounding the social justice cases of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. Candice currently resides in Los Angeles and Accra, Ghana, where she’s building The Candice Vernon Institute of Creative Arts & Technology.
